Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I was ten, I wanted to be an actress more than anything. Mostly I loved movies and any chance to be dramatic. As I grew older, I learned how much fun it is to be behind the camera, but there’s still a small part of me always ready to break out into a tap number.

What are a few items on your bucket list?

There are too many things I want to see and do, but currently I want to visit Iceland to see the Northern Lights, publish a novel, see John Williams in concert, and grow actual food I can eat in my garden.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with family and friends, eat truly delicious carbs, practice yoga, binge a sitcom, attend a theater performance, or take a trip to a new place. And yes, all make me equally happy.

What are some causes you care about?

I am passionate about making the arts accessible to young people. Growing up, I heard over and over that going into writing and film wasn’t a realistic career path. I volunteer with the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards to help assign scholarships to aspiring writers, and hosted a workshop for Kan Kan Cinema to help high school students develop a short film.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit of?

I’m currently working on practicing yoga every day. While it’s something I truly love doing, it can be hard to make the time to destress. I’m hoping to make it an everyday practice and end the year with a much richer understanding and skill level.
