What’s a typical day like for you?
If I’m not working, a typical day for me consists of reading a few chapters of a book, keeping my dog from chewing the furniture, and avoiding housework at all costs.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
I’m an encyclopedia of useless knowledge. I used to go to trivia nights once a week with friends, just to utilize all this random information in my head. My strengths are film, history, space, pop culture and literature. But don’t ask me any sports or geography questions. I will lose 99% of the time.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
To this day, I think astronauts have the coolest job. In middle school, I even looked into what I’d have to do to become one and quickly realized that I don’t have the mind or the stomach for it. Instead, I live vicariously through my personal library of astronaut memoirs, mission histories, and various texts about the cosmos (35 books and growing!).
What’s a TV show that you could watch on repeat?
Too many. My husband and I have our favorites on a regular rotation: Parks and Recreation, The Office, How I Met Your Mother. And I am always down for a West Wing rewatch.
What are a few items on your bucket list?
So many things! Some require time and patience, like learning ASL or relearning how to play the piano. Some require planning, like visiting the West Coast or watching a rocket launch in person. And some are so silly that I can’t believe I haven’t gotten around to them yet, like going to a drive-in movie. I know, don’t judge me!
